Work-Experience:
As a Foundry Engineer/Quality Engineer at Finch Seaman Enfield Group I was responsible for designing and implementing a new quality assurance system that would initially meet customer requirements for new contracts, and furthermore lead to accreditation for ISO9001:2000. I also set up procedures and methods for internal auditing, external auditing of key suppliers and, in conjunction with management staff, change current practices where applicable to meet the new quality requirements. I have also been working with the management team using the companies CRM system, with regard to marketing and sales initiatives.
As a Process engineer (Amtek) I was involved with implementing production methods for the die-casting, shear pressing operations. This involved using mathematical principles to achieve the best possible cycle time for the machinery, thus achieving low cost high quality parts. Alongside work I have also studied motor vehicle mechanics for two years. This involved engine fault diagnosis/repair. General maintenance and servicing.
At Maycast-Nokes i was involved with quality issues within areas of the company and also responsible for the calibration of some heat treatment related equipment. During employment I have also worked hands on in three of the casting processes: investment, sand and die-casting. I have built up a good grounding knowledge of all casting processes and stages of manufacturing within the foundry environment.
A lot of time was spent working as a foundry technician within the metallurgy lab. Responsibilities included preparation of test equipment, carrying out quality tests, investigating casting issues. I have also achieved an appreciation of the running of engineering business, and the quality and international standards required in manufacture. I spent a lot of time working in NDT. Covering die penetrant inspection, x-ray and visual inspection.I helped with casting issues in the foundries and heat treatment problems.
